  1. Where is the project located?
    Cristal Beach Resort is located on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic in the town of Cabrera in the province of Maria Trinidad Sanchez.

  2. What airports and airlines service this area?
    There are 2 airports close to Cristal Beach Resort. Gregorio Luperón International Airport (known as Puerto Plata Airport) is approximately 70 minutes from Cristal Beach and is served by many of the world’s largest airlines. The newest airport in the Dominican is called El Catey and is approximately 30 minutes from Cristal Beach. Currently the El Catey airport services flights from Germany, Spain, Italy, Puerto Rico, and will begin continental U.S. flights with major airlines by the end of 2007. Also, the airports in Santiago, and Santo Domingo are a little further away from Cristal Beach Resort but offer a wide range of international flights.

    The local time zone is Eastern Standard Time and Daylight Savings Time is not observed.

  4. What is the climate in this area of the Dominican Republic?
    The Dominican Republic enjoys beautiful tropical weather all year round, with the average annual temperature hovering around 30°C (80°F). Some call the Dominican Republic's climate, 'the endless summer', due to warm and sunny conditions experienced almost everywhere in the country, all year round.

  5. Are hurricanes a threat to the Dominican Republic?
    As with any island in the Caribbean, hurricanes can occur. Although because of the Dominican’s location, it has rarely been hit with any hurricanes. Florida and the coast of the US are hit 30 times more than the Dominican Republic. Also, the mountain ranges of the Dominican Republic act as a natural barrier and storms generally gain their strength only after passing above the Island and into the Gulf of Mexico.

  6. What activities are available in the area?
    There are an abundance of activities in the area such as:
    1. Golf-World championship golf at the Robert Trent Sr. course Playa Grande, where 12 of the 18 holes on this championship golf course hover on the cliffs above the ocean.
    2. Snorkeling-Some of the best snorkeling in the Caribbean is steps away from your condo.
    3. Fishing-World class fishing for Dorado, Wahoo, Sailfish, Marlin, Tuna and more.
    4. Riding-Horseback and ATV riding in the rainforest.
    5. Surfing-The area is known world wide for its wonderful surfing, especially kite and wind surfing.
    6. Whale Watching – The North Coast is a migration path for the humpback whales.
    7. Outdoor Action- Activities such as hiking, mountain climbing and even white water rafting.


  7. Is the water safe to drink?
    Even though Cristal Beach will install filtration systems that could provide drinkable water, it is advised to drink the fresh bottled water that will be supplied daily to every unit by the resort.

  8. Is it necessary to speak Spanish in the Dominican Republic?
    While Spanish is the official language, English is widely spoken in many areas of the Dominican Republic. Also, our Concierge Service will be offering beginner Spanish class’s to those who are interested.

  9. Do we have to furnish our unit?
    No. The developer will furnish all units with high quality furnishings. The kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms will all be fully fitted. This is included in the purchase price. Upgrades to the existing furnishings may be purchased or added but because the units will be rented, uniformity is crucial.

  10. Will there be security?
    Cristal Beach is a fully gated community. Security guards will be onsite 24 hours per day all year long. Also a bilingual staff member will tend the reception desk 24/7 along with an onsite resident manager.

  11. Will there be an association?
    Yes there will be an association responsible for annual financial reports, quarterly revenue distribution, presentation of annual budget, organization of annual share holders meeting, full accounting reports in USD, legal aspects and daily hotel operations.

  12. Can our unit be rented?
    All units will be required to be in the condo rental pool while the owner is not using the unit in order to significantly reduce the monthly condo fees. The configurations of the units make it possible for your unit to be rented out to more than one client per night to increase your investment return. There will be exceptions for people who do not want their unit rented, but it will require a higher monthly condo fee.

  13. What is the currency used in the Dominican Republic?
    The official currency is Dominican Pesos but the US dollar is accepted in many areas. All purchase prices and payments for Cristal Beach Resort will be paid in US dollars.

  14. What services are available for unit owners at Cristal Beach?
    There will be a high quality of service at all times that include but not limited to:
    1. Maid Service.
    2. Full concierge service that will book all activities, arrange dinner reservations, handle private parties etc.
    3. Full internet service will be available to all units.
    4. Phone service will be available to all units.
    5. Cable or satellite television service will be available to all units.
    6. Full pool and beach service will be available.


  15. Are there restrictions to foreigners owning property or units in the Dominican Republic?
    You will receive full legal title to your unit as with property owned in the United States and other similar countries. You will be given fee simple title to your unit.

  16. What deposits are required with a purchase of a Cristal Beach unit?
    Deposit structure is as follows:
    • 30% due at contract signing
    • 25% due 15 days after foundation (slab) is poured (letter will be sent out)
    • 25% due 15 days after the tile is on the roof (letter will be sent out)
    • 20% due upon completed of the unit and keys turned over to owner


  17. How are deposits paid?
    Deposits can be wired directly or can be sent via a cashiers check drawn on a U.S. bank. All deposits must be in US dollars.

  18. Is financing available?
    Currently most unit purchasers in the Dominican Republic use financing that is done through equity properties already owned in the United Sates or other countries. Cristal Beach Resort is now working with several large banks that would loan on the Cristal Beach units themselves and loan programs should be available in the near future.
